Dave & Vicki Imhoff
Vicki: "Dave and I started rescuing horses in 2016. A friend told us about a website that listed horses that were about to be shipped to slaughter. After going online, we saw a beautiful little black and white mare and decided to do our part and save her.
I was so excited to drive up to Sunnyside, Washington to meet our rescue. Upon my arrival, my excitement quickly turned to complete and utter devastation. I could not believe the number of horses that were at the “kill pen” waiting to be shipped to their death. I called Dave in hysterics because there were so many hopeless eyes staring back at me with the silent plea to save them. That was when another soul caught my attention and I knew I had to take him home, too.
Driving home was a very difficult thing to do. I cried and prayed that God would show me what I was supposed to do. Since that day, it has been by the grace of God that we have saved over 150 horses. Some of these horses were saved in order to allow them a peaceful journey over the rainbow bridge, however, the majority of these horses were loved, trained, and helped to find forever homes.
The ups and downs have been plenty, but we remain strong in our mission to save the unwanted."
